Raines House

Raines House remains a beautiful historic artifact due to the building’s special Baroque architecture. Built in 1719 and founded as a charity school by Henry Raine. In modern times, this building has been used as a community centre and as offices for the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. The school (Raine’s Foundation School) has been moved to Approach Rd, Bethnal Green.

Our Challenge

We were contracted with T&B to carry out all M&E works in relation to Raines House, a Grade II* listed community centre in Wapping, LondonE1.

Works included installation of the sub-mains and distribution boards, small power installation, emergency lighting and external lighting installation, accessible assistance alarm system, intruder alarm system, access control system, television/audio system, fire alarm systems, data & telephone network system installation, lightning protection, earthing and bonding, testing and commissioning and BMS automatic controls.

We have also carried out similar works for Collingwood Community Centre for T&B.

Our Achievements

Early engagement - our in-house design manager and a dedicated M&E manager worked in collaboration to ensure the project was completed within the required 7-month programme.

“Thank-you for the Arc teams continuous hard work over the last 7 months and the efforts to keeping disruption to the school to a minimum” Member of staff at Raines House.
