The British Museum
Our Challenge:
The British Museum estate extends to many former residential properties in Bloomsbury which have been used as educational research accommodation.
The museum decided to rent four of the properties out as commercial office accommodation to produce an income stream and Arc M&E were engaged to bring the M&E services up to date in each house as well as complete fit-out and redecoration.
Relevance to Imperial College London:
- Demolition/enabling/Fit out works
- Logistically challenging in central London
Considerations:
Working in Central London presents logistical problems associated with traffic congestion and narrow streets, as was the case with this project. Due to restriction, we had a limit to the size of vehicles either delivering to or removing from site the limited the hours for vehicle movements to avoid adding to local congestion.
