Begbroke Science Park
The delivery of 135,000 sqft of new research facilities for Oxford University.
Arc Waterproofing were delighted to be involved in a contract representing a £100m investment in expanding the Science Park by the JV which created a further 135,000 sq ft of space in total. One building is now a new home for the University’s academics and the other is a new commercial hub for companies looking to grow and build links with academia.
Our works included the design, supply and installation:
- Supply and installation of the inverted roof system including the paving slab finish
- Installation of paving on pedestals, drainage systems, overflow pipes through parapets, all pitch pockets, non-combustible hybrid warm roof systems to parapets / upstands, EPDMs and all necessary accessories
- Installation of paving slabs beneath plant equipment ahead of the remainder slabs and weatherproofing of all perimeters and internal roof upstands
- Allowance for all pitch pockets to, including but limited to, plant screen posts, handrail posts and steel columns to external roof plantroom and steel roof flues
- Supply and issue of all roof RWP gullies to superstructure contractor. Gullies cast in appropriate leaf guards
- Temporary weathering of 20 nr holes in the roof slab, thermal target recording
- Design, supply and installation of roof boxes, access hatch ladders, profiled sheet coverings, roof lights etc
